Series history: Ohio State has won six in a row against Wisconsin and leads the series 59-18-5, though the Buckeyes' lead is only 20-22-1 since 1981. The Badgers are 7-30-3 in Columbus.

Last game: J.K. Dobbins ran for 174 yards and J.T. Barrett threw for 211 and two touchdowns as the Buckeyes won 27-21 in the 2017 Big Ten championship game. Barrett also ran for 60 yards and a touchdown six days after having knee surgery. Jerome Baker had 16 tackles for an Ohio State defense that held the Badgers to 60 yards rushing.

Coaches: Ohio State's Ryan Day is 10-0, including a 3-0 mark last season as interim coach of the Buckeyes. He is 5-0 in Big Ten games. Wisconsin's Paul Chryst is 67-32 in eight seasons as a head coach and 48-13 in five years at Wisconsin, where he played quarterback in the mid-80s.

Ohio State notes: The Buckeyes rank in the national top 10 in scoring offense (49.7 points per game), total offense (526.7 yards per game) and rushing offense (287.1 ypg.)… The retooled defense is second in the country in points allowed per game (8.0) and yards allowed (229.0)… Ohio State's 66 tackles for loss are tied for the national lead… After seven games, Justin Fields is already 10th in single-season touchdown passes at Ohio State with 22… Junior cornerback Jefrey Okudah was added to the Jim Thorpe Award semifinalists list this week. That goes to the best defensive back in the nation… Ohio State's average of 22.6 points per second quarter is No. 1 in the nation by more than a touchdown over No. 2 LSU.

Wisconsin notes: The Badgers are 12th in the country in scoring (39.7 ppg.), 37th in total offense (443.7 ypg.), 17th in rushing (235.4 ypg.), 89th in passing (208.3 ypg.) and 20th in passing efficiency… Running back Jonathan Taylor leads the way with a Big Ten-best 136.7 yards rushing per game and national-best 16.3 points per game while first-year starting quarterback Jack Coan is fourth in the country in passing efficiency… Taylor is 19th in career rushing yards with 5,128. He needs 461 yards to catch Ohio State's Archie Griffin, who is ninth, and 1,997 to catch all-time leader and Wisconsin alum Ron Dayne… The defense ranks No. 1 in the country in total defense (193.9 yards per game), rushing defense (58.4 ypg.), passing yards allowed (135.4 ypg.), opponent pass efficiency and scoring defense (7.6 points per game)… Junior receiver Danny Davis III of Springfield is one of six Ohioans on the roster, joining quarterback Chase Wolf (Cincinnati St. Xavier), tight end Seth Current (Pickerington Central), fullback Quan Easterling (Akron Hoban) and defensive ends Rodas Johnson (Columbus DeSales) and Isaiah Mullens (Canal Winchester Harvest Prep).
