Kam’ren Rhodes, a 5-foot-6 point guard in the class of 2022, announced her verbal commitment to the Dayton Flyers on Tuesday.

Rhodes is a junior at Arizona Compass Prep in Chandler, Ariz. DaRon Holmes, one of the Dayton men’s basketball team’s 2021 recruits, also attends that school.

Rhodes attended Sabino High School in Tuscon, Ariz., prior to moving to Compass Prep. Sabino won Arizona’s Class AAA state championship in March. It was the school’s first state title since 1990. The team was coached by Kam’ren’s father, Jamaal Rhodes, who left to start the girls program at Compass Prep.

Rhodes received a scholarship offer from Dayton in July 2019. Purdue, Washington and Kentucky were among the other schools that offered Rhodes scholarships.
