Dayton and Rhode Island play twice in the last four games of the regular season: Feb. 16 at Rhode Island; and Feb. 26 at UD Arena.
Jenna Giacone led the Flyers with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting. It was her highest points total since she scored 28 against Toledo in the third game of the season.
Makira Cook added 16 points and nine rebounds. Tenin Magassa had 10 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
Eleven players scored for Dayton. Araion Bradshaw led the team with seven assists and four steals.
The Flyers opened the game with a 7-0 run. Richmond scored its first point on a free-throw at the 7:57 mark but missed its last 10 shots of the quarter while committing five turnovers. The Spiders ended the drought by making their first shot of the second quarter.
Richmond (12-9, 3-5) got as close as 13 points in the second quarter but trailed 41-24 at halftime and 67-44 after three quarters.
Dayton has won 16 straight games against Richmond since a loss in the A-10 tournament in 2009. At that point, Richmond led the series 10-3.
Dayton returns to action at 1 p.m. Sunday at Davidson (11-6, 2-3).
