Wright State is the unanimous pick to win the Horizon League baseball championship this season.

The Raiders on Wednesday were tapped as the team to beat in a preseason poll of league coaches.

Wright State, which returns five all-league players and two players from the league’s all-freshman team, received all six first-place votes for 36 points. UIC was second with 28, followed by Milwaukee (26), Youngstown State (15), Oakland (12) and Northern Kentucky (9).

The Raiders won HL regular-season and tournament titles last season. They played in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four years.

Wright State opens the season with a three-game series against No. 10 Mississippi on Friday, Feb. 15. The Raiders’ home opener is Wednesday, March 6 vs. Xavier at Nischwitz Stadium.
