Wright State blows out Northern Kentucky

Tanner Holden 20 points and 13 rebounds and Loudon Love had 16 points and 11 boards as Wright State obliterated Horizon League rival Northern Kentucky, 95-63, on Friday.

The game was never close after the opening few possessions as the first-place Raiders — who shot 61 percent while improving to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in the league — built a two-game lead at the midway point in the conference race.

Love has eight double-doubles in the 17 games he’s played. Bill Wampler had 19 points, Jaylon Hall 15, Trey Calvin 12 and Cole Gentry 11.

Wright State stormed to a 61-32 lead on a Gentry jumper with 15:49 left. NKU was never able to get it under 20 after that.

The Raiders turned a 12-7 lead with 15:57 to go in the first half into a 29-12 bulge on a three-point play by Wampler at 8:41.

They led by as many as 22 in the first half and shot 60 percent, while the Norse (14-7, 6-3) shot 31.4 percent and 39.4 for the game.
