Wright State overwhelms Northwestern Ohio

Wright State overcame a sluggish first half and overwhelmed Northwestern Ohio, an NAIA school from Lima, with a strong performance after halftime for a 91-52 win Thursday.

The Raiders (5-6) finished the first half with a surge to take a 33-27 halftime lead. They outscored their guests, 29-5, over the first 10:30 of the second half to take command.

Freshman sub Skyelar Potter led the way with 17 points. Cole Gentry had 12, and Bill Wampler and Mark Hughes 10 each.

Parker Ernsthausen added eight points and nine rebounds and Malachi Smith nine points and eight boards off the bench.

Wright State started 3-for-20 from the field, while Northwestern Ohio (4-10) began 10-for-18 and built a 21-16 lead with 7:18 to go in the first half.

The Raiders ripped off 11 straight points in one stretch to take a 32-25 edge. They shot 10-of-36 from the field (27.8 percent) in the first half but finished 33-of-78 (42.3) for the game.
