Wright State’s Calvin earns Horizon League honor

Wright State senior point guard Trey Calvin on Monday was named Horizon League Player of the Week.

Calvin scored 17 points and hit a buzzer-beating jumper to lift the Raiders to a 73-72 win at Louisville on Saturday. In a season-opening, double-ovetime loss to Davidson on Wednesday, he scored a career-high 37 points.

Calvin hit 22-of-49 shots (45 percent) in the two games, while also dishing out nine assists and grabbing six rebounds.

The Raiders (1-1) return to action at home Tuesday against Bowling Green at the Nutter Center. Wright State hosts Defiance on Thursday night.
