Wright State’s Brandon Noel was the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on Monday for the fourth time this season.

Noel turned in a pair of strong performances last week, turning in a pair of double-digit scoring performances to help lead Wright State to victories in its final two home contests of the regular season. Noel started his week with 12 points and eight rebounds in just 25 minutes of action against IUPUI, adding a career-high seven assists to go along with two blocks and a steal before an 18-point, eight rebound effort against NKU, filling his stat line with three assists, two blocks and two steals.

Noel finished his weekend a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw stripe and was 10-of-11 from the floor, including a 7-of-7 mark against NKU, as he shot 91 percent from the floor over the two games while averaging 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists a game while tallying a 5.0 assists to turnover ratio as he now has 18 double-digit scoring performances this season, 11 of which have come in Horizon League action.

For the season, Noel is just shy of averaging a double-double with his 12.9 points per and 8.7 rebounds per game, with the rebound average second-best in the Horizon and his scoring output inside the top 15. Noel’s 61.3 percent shooting continues to lead the Horizon League and is inside the top 20 nationally.

Wright State returns to the court Friday at Cleveland State.
