2 injured in 3-vehicle crash that shuts down I-70 West near Airport Access Road

A three-vehicle crash temporarily shut down Interstate 70 west Monday afternoon near Airport Access Road and caused a major backup.

At least two people were injured in the crash reported at 1:24 p.m. that involved a semitruck, car and dump truck, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At one point, all westbound lanes were closed and traffic was backed up to state Route 202. As of 3:15 p.m., the right two lanes were still closed but the lanes reopened sometime after 4:15 p.m., according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

At least two people were trapped; however, it was not immediately clear whether the same people injured also were trapped in the wreckage.
