Showers, chance of storms overnight after severe weather

After severe weather and multiple tornado warnings Thursday evening, overnight there will be showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm as temperatures fall to around 53 degrees.

Tornado warnings were issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington after:

  • At 9:03 p.m., a tornado-producing storm was located over Piqua, moving east at 40 mph.
  • At 9:23 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near St. Paris, moving east at 35 mph.
  • At 9:42 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Urbana, moving east at 30 mph.
  • At 9:44 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Urbana, moving east at 35 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue before 11 a.m. Friday, followed by a chance of showers. According to the Weather Prediction Center, the area is under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cooler, with a high around 60 degrees.

Friday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 37 degrees.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 59 degrees. It also will be breezy, especially in the afternoon, with a southwest wind of 6 to 16 mph.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 39 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers before 2 a.m.

St. Patrick’s Day will be mostly sunny and cooler with a high near 50 degrees. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 30 degrees.

The first part of the new workweek will be dry and sunny, with highs in the lower 40s on Monday rising to near 50 degrees by Wednesday.
