Frost possible overnight, but highs near 80 return Wednesday

Today will start cloudy, but skies will rapidly clear for a sunny afternoon with warmer but still cool conditions, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Highs will be around 60 degrees.

Highs will reach the upper 50s to low 60s today. There’s a chance 10 to 15 mph winds and gusts of up to 25 mph.

A Frost Advisory takes effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Wednesday for Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties.

Temperatures from 33 to 36 degrees are expected, resulting in frost. Conditions could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation, according to NWS.

Wednesday will bring a few more clouds, but it will still be mostly sunny and warm, with highs around 77 degrees. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 56 degrees.

Thursday will mostly sunny with a high near 83 degrees. It also will be breezy, with gusts will be as high as 33 mph and sustained winds as high as 17 mph.

Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 60 degrees. A cold front moves into the region, bringing a chance of showers after 2 am.

Showers are expected Friday, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. The high for the day will be near 69 degrees.
