A warmup trend starts today that will lead to temperatures in the 80s for the weekend — just days after a mid-April snow shower.

It is mostly cloudy with a high temperature that reached 60 degrees in Dayton and Columbus and 65 degrees in Cincinnati, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Showers arrive tonight, mostly after midnight, with the overnight low around 53 under breezy conditions.

Showers are likely through noon Thursday, which will be cloudy and warmer with a high near 66 degrees. It also will be breezy with gusts as high as 30 mph. There is a slight chance of showers overnight, mainly after 2 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 51 degrees.

There is a chance of showers for Friday, which will be mostly cloudy with a high in the mid-70s. Thunderstorms also will be possible between 5 and 8 p.m. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 57 degrees.

Skies will be mostly sunny Saturday with a high near 83 degrees. Overnight will be partly cloudy with a low around 60 degrees.

Sunny skies are in store for Sunday, with a high near 82 degrees. There is a chance of showers overnight, after 2 a.m., which otherwise will be partly cloudy with a low around 61 degrees.

Showers are expected to start the new workweek under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 75 degrees.
