Areas of dense fog tonight, widespread rain Wednesday

Rounds of showers showers are in the forecast through Thursday.

A dense fog advisory is in effect through 10 a.m., issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Visibility of one-quarter mile or less is possible. If driving, slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance from vehicles ahead.

Tonight will be cloudy with an overnight low around 40. Rain is likely, mainly after 4 a.m.

Wednesday will be warmer with a high near 51 degrees. Rain is in the forecast, mainly before 4 p.m.

Rain continues Wednesday night, which will have a low around 45 degrees overnight. Widespread fog also is expected through noon Thursday.

Another rainy day is in the forecast for Thursday, which will have a high near 56 degrees.

Rain is expected to continue Thursday night, mainly before 1 a.m. It will be cloudy with an overnight low around 43 degrees.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and dry with a high near 49 degrees. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 38 degrees.

Rain chances return for the weekend, with highs in the 40s on Saturday and Sunday.
