Cool with gradually clearing skies today; Rain returns Thursday night

Today will be dry, with clouds clearing for mostly sunny skies this afternoon.

It will be slightly warmer, with highs around 60 degrees, but still cooler than usual, according tot the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Overnight, it will be mostly clear and cold, with lows around 36 degrees causing patchy frost after 4 a.m.

The frost will continue until around 7 a.m. on Thursday, but otherwise it will be a little warmer with increasing clouds. It will be mostly cloudy by the afternoon, with highs reaching around 63 degrees.

There will also be a slight chance of showers Thursday afternoon, with rain becoming likely after the sun sets. The showers will continue throughout the night as temperatures dip to around 49 degrees.

Friday will be rainy, with showers likely until the evening, when chances will gradually fall, though it will still linger through the night. Highs will be around 65 degrees, and lows will be around 48 degrees.
