Damaging winds could blow down trees and branches along with power lines, causing widespread power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, the NWS said.
The high for today reached a record 67 degrees in Dayton, breaking the old record of 65 degrees for Feb. 9 set in 2001. Columbus also set a record with a high of 72 degrees, breaking the old record of 66 degrees, also set in 2001.
Cincinnati tied the old record of 67 degrees for today, which was set in 2001.
Tonight, winds will still be strong before gradually subsiding by the early overnight hours. The overnight low will be around 36 degrees.
Friday will be cooler and calmer, with mostly cloudy skies and a high around 44 degrees.
Clouds will gradually decrease on Friday night as temperatures fall below freezing to a low around 27 degrees.
Saturday will be sunny and a little colder, with a high around 41 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night with a low around 25 degrees.
Sunday will be partly cloudy, but warmer, with highs around 50 degrees. Lows will be in the mid-20s.
