High temperatures continue today; chance for storms later this week

This workweek will begin with hot, sunny weather.

Temperatures may reach up to 90 degrees this week, with a possibility of some thunderstorms Thursday, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported.

Today will be hot and sunny with a light wind. High temperatures could reach the low 90s.

Overnight, the skies will be clear with temperatures drop to about 66 degrees.

Tuesday’s weather will be similar, with temperatures reaching highs of around 90 degrees with a calm wind. Overnight, temperatures will drop to about 68 degrees.

Wednesday will bring more sun and clear skies, with high temperatures forecasted to reach the high 80s to low 90s again, the NWS said.

On Thursday, the area may see some showers and storms. High temperatures are expected to remain, with a chance of hitting 90 degrees. A few severe storms may be possible during the afternoon and into the evening, NWS reported.
