Today, there will be increasing clouds, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms starting around noon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Rain will be likely with a chance of thunderstorms late this afternoon, with chances of both falling this evening.

Thunderstorms could be strong to marginally severe, the NWS said, with the main threat being damaging winds.

Overnight, clouds will gradually decrease. Precipitation chances will trail off around midnight, after which there will be breezy winds with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Highs will be around 87 degrees, falling to a low around 51 degrees overnight.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and cool, with highs around 71 degrees.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and chilly, with lows around 43 degrees.

On Sunday, it will be a little warmer and sunny, with highs around 75 degrees, followed by a clear night with lows around 49 degrees.
