There will be a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms tonight and into Saturday, with a better chance for showers and storms on Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front.

Warm weather continues today, but it will be cloudy with highs around 77 degrees and a chance for a stray shower or storm in the afternoon or early evening, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Tonight there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 2 a.m. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 57 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny Saturday with a high near 78 degrees. There is a chance of showers and storms, mainly after 3 p.m. and before 8 p.m.

Saturday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 58 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers and storms after 3 a.m.

There is a slight chance of showers and storms before 9 a.m. Sunday, then showers between 9 a.m. and noon followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. It will be breezy with a high near 73 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

There’s a chance for an isolated severe storm, according to NWS.

Sunday night will be cooler and breezy with showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 9 p.m. Overnight, there is a slight chance of showers after 3 a.m. The overnight low will fall to around 40 degrees.

Monday will be cloudy and cool with a high near 46 degrees and a chance of showers after 9 a.m. Monday night there is a chance of showers before 9 p.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 36 degrees.

Skies will be mostly sunny Tuesday with a high near 56 degrees.

Temperatures for the rest of the workweek rebound into the 70s, which a chance of showers returning Thursday night into Friday.
