Labor Day brings seasonably mild temps, sunny skies

Abundant sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures will prevail through the first half of the workweek before rain chances return by Friday.

Cooler air will also settle into the region and will stick around through midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be sunny with highs near 79 degrees, followed by a clear overnight as temperatures dip low around 53 degrees.

Tuesday brings sunshine and warm temperatures in the lower 80s with partial overcast skies expected overnight. The lows will fall around 59 degrees.

Temperatures will rise for Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s to go with mostly sunny skies. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy but cool as lows fall around 63 degrees.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs of 86 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy overnight with lows around 64 degrees.
