Snow is falling steadily today with 2 to 3 inches of accumulation expected before an Arctic blast returns this weekend ahead of a warming trend next week.

A winter weather advisory is in effect through 1 a.m. Saturday for Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Warren counties, issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, due to snowfall.

Periods of light snow will continue into Saturday before tapering off. Elevated winds may lead to isolated blowing snow. Some roads in the area that were previously cleared could develop slick spots through the evening.

Tonight will be much colder with a low around 7 degrees and wind chill values as low as minus 4. Snow is likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Nighttime snow accumulation of less than 1 inch is possible.

A wind chill advisory will be in effect from midnight to noon Saturday for the region.

Wind chill values as low as minus 10 are expected Saturday morning, and as low as minus 5 on Sunday morning.

Saturday will be partly sunny with a high near 19 degrees with wind chill values as low as minus 5. There is a slight chance of snow.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 3 degrees and wind chill values as low as minus 4.

Sunday will be sunny with a high near 25 degrees and wind chill values as low as minus 4. Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with an overnight low around 15 degrees.

The high temperature on Monday will rise above freezing with partly sunny skies and a high near 38 degrees — after what will be an eight-day stretch of subfreezing weather.

Monday night will be cloudy with an overnight low around 30 degrees. There is a chance of rain after 1 a.m.

Rain is likely Tuesday through Thursday, with high temperatures rising from the low 40s into the low 50s, with a chance of showers on Friday.
