Mild today; Rain Wednesday, followed by cold temperatures

Clouds will gradually decrease throughout the day today as temperatures rise to around 56 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Skies will be mostly clear by dark.

Overnight, clouds will increase again to mostly cloudy skies after midnight. Lows will be around 46 degrees.

Wednesday will be warm, mostly cloudy and windy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. There will be a chance of rain this afternoon that will rise throughout the evening and overnight, making showers likely soon after dark.

Rain is expected to continue through most of Wednesday night, falling to a chance of rain a few hours before dawn and continuing through Thursday morning.

Highs on Wednesday will be around 67 degrees, then drop to around 39 degrees overnight.

On Thursday, clouds will decrease during the day, for mostly sunny skies after rain chances fall away around noon.

During the day temperatures won’t rise much from over night lows, with highs around 48 degrees.

Clouds will decrease further overnight as temperatures fall down below freezing, to a low around 26 degrees.
