Mild with gusty winds and rain today, tonight

A mild and wet weather pattern will prevail through midweek, with drier and colder conditions expected toward the end of the week. Until then, several systems will bring rain to the region.

Today will be rainy but windy with gusts as high as 29 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. The high will be near 59 degrees.

Tonight brings more rain showers before 8 p.m., with overcast skies to remain for the night. Wind will gust as high as 25 mph overnight as lows will fall near 36 degrees.

Tuesday brings sunny skies with mild temperatures and a high of 49 degrees, followed by mostly overcast night as temperatures fall into the mid-30s.

Rain showers are on the forecast between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday. The high will be near 48 degrees, while the lows drop into the mid-20s overnight. Mostly overcast skies are expected Wednesday night.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a high of 35 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy Thursday night with a chance of snow showers after 1 a.m. The overnight low will fall to near 27 degrees.
