Chance for rain, isolated strong storm this afternoon; Sunny and dry this weekend

Today will be breezy, with a mostly clear morning, but clouds will increase quickly in the afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms starting around 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

A cold front will move into the region, bringing a chance for rain starting in the mid-afternoon. An isolated severe strong is possible, with damaging winds the primary threat, according to NWS.

The best chance for severe weather is west and along Interstate 71.

Showers will be likely in the early evening, but precipitation chances and clouds will decrease again around nightfall. There will be mostly clear skies after midnight as rain and storm chances trail off.

High temperatures will be around 83 degrees, and lows will be around 58 degrees.

Friday will be sunny and a little cooler, with highs around 78 degrees.

Friday night will be clear with a low around 54 degrees.

On Saturday, during the day it will be sunny with highs near 83 degrees, and overnight it will be mostly clear with a low around 61 degrees.

More seasonal temperatures will return Sunday with highs around 88 degrees. Skies will be sunny and clear.
