Mostly cloudy, breezy and mild with chance of afternoon rain

Today will be mostly cloudy and spring-like, with breezy winds and a chance of rain in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Highs will be around 60 degrees.

Showers could start in the late morning and early afternoon, but will be likely by the evening. Rain will continue into early Thursday and could be around a third to a quarter of an inch.

Lows will drop around 39 degrees.

On Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy with light winds and a slight chance for rain. There’s a chance for multiple rounds of rain, but widespread showers are not expected.

Highs will be around 50 degrees.

After sunset, there’s a chance for snow and graupel — soft hail — to mix in with showers, but accumulation is unlikely.

In the early-morning hours, it will be mostly clear as temperatures fall to around 30 degrees.

Friday will be partly cloudy with highs around 53 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy night with lows around 39 degrees.

It will be breezy with sustained winds of 20 mph with gusts of up to 35 mph possible.
