Winter weather advisory in effect; Freezing rain into Tuesday morning

Heavy rainfall early Tuesday morning February 22, 2022 dropped visibility along US 70 near Huber Heights. Freezing rain is expected through Tuesday morning because ground temperatures will still be subfreezing, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

There is a slight chance of rain or freezing rain tonight, with freezing rain expected overnight into Tuesday morning.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. today through noon Tuesday. Freezing rain will lead to slick roads and possible power outages.

The overnight low will fall to around 32 degrees.

Snow and freezing rain will move into the region early Tuesday. Precipitation will likely start between 1 and 3 a.m., with total ice accumulation of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch possible.

Freezing rain will transition to rain as temperatures rise. Shower chances start to drop in the afternoon.

Highs will be near 43 degrees with a low of 38 degrees.

Wednesday brings more rain, amounting between a quarter and half of an inch possible. The high will be 49 degrees. Expect additional showers overnight with mild conditions and a low of 45 degrees.

Much above normal temperatures are expected midweek into the end of the upcoming workweek.

Rain chances continue Thursday. Highs will be in the mid-50s, while the lows will be in the lower 40s. Thursday night will be cloudy with a chance of rain before 1 a.m.

Dry conditions are expected Friday.
