Rain expected to begin overnight

Today will be mostly sunny and warmer than normal, with highs reaching up to around 71 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

However, in the early evening clouds will quickly build for a mostly cloudy night a chance of rain after midnight, especially in the southern and eastern parts of the area. Lows will be around 53 degrees.

Widespread rain will be likely starting around dawn on Veterans Day and continuing through the morning. A few rumbles of thunder is possible.

Rain chances will fall in the afternoon before dropping off entirely after sundown. Temperatures will be cooler at around 62 degrees.

Friday night will be partly cloudy, with temperatures falling to around freezing.

Saturday kicks off a stretch of cooler than usual weather. It will be partly sunny and cold, with highs only reaching around 43 degrees.

Overnight, it will be partly cloudy as temperatures drop below freezing to around 27 degrees.

A few flurries are possible north of Interstate 70 into Sunday morning.

Skies will be mostly clear Sunday with highs in the low 40s. Overnight temperatures are expected to be well below freezing.
