Mostly sunny with a high of 70 today; colder temperatures settling in this week

Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Wind gusts will range from 5 to 13 mph with the possibility of going up to 23 mph.

Tonight will be seasonably cool and tranquil with partly cloudy skies. The temperature overnight will be in the upper 30′s. A cold front is expected to move in throughout the night and bring cooler temperatures into this week, NWS said.

The work week kicks off with a mostly sunny day with highs in the upper 40′s. Chilly temperatures will be seen along with very breezy wind gusts. The gusts will range from 7 to 15 mph and up to 28 mph.

Monday night’s low temperature falls around 34 degrees. Skies will be partly cloudy and quiet among dry conditions.

Tuesday involves a partly sunny sky with a high of 47 degrees. The overnight will be partly cloudy and considerably cooler with temperatures dropping to mid-30′s.

Widespread frost may be likely before 9 a.m. Wednesday, NWS said. Despite the chance of frost, conditions will be mostly sunny but cool.

The high of the day will be 50 degrees.

Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with a low of 34 degrees.
