RELATED: Crashes, slide-offs being reported due to slick roads throughout the area
The driver, only identified as a man, was not injured in the crash.
Slick roads and excessive speed are believed to be factors, according to investigators. State troopers said the truck was traveling too fast for the conditions and hit a patch of slush, causing the vehicle to go off the road and hit the pole.
Jasper Road remains shut down in both directions between Shawnee Trail and Paintersville New Jasper Road. Troopers initially estimated the road would be blocked into Wednesday afternoon.
The crash caused nearly 6,000 Dayton Power & Light customers to experience an outage, but that number has since been updated to less than 100 customers experiencing power loss.
We’ll continue to update this story as we learn more.
