It will be partly cloudy and hot today, and even hotter for Wednesday with heat index values above 100 across the region.

Skies tonight will be mostly clear, with an overnight low around 71 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, which will be mostly sunny with a high near 93 degrees. Heat index values will be as high as 103 for some, which means that the temperature would feel like 103 degrees.

The combined high heat and humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.

Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night, which has a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. and overnight lows around 74 degrees.

There will be a chance of showers Thursday morning, with rain likely by the afternoon. There will also be a chance of thunderstorms starting around noon. The rain and chance of storms will continue through the afternoon and after night falls, only starting to decrease after midnight.

There will still be a chance of rain and a slight chance of thunderstorms by the time the sun rises on Friday.

Temperatures will be hot on Thursday, with a high around 89 degrees and a low around 71 degrees.
