Patchy fog this morning; Chance for showers, storms from Tropical Depression Fred remnants

Today will be cloudy, with patchy fog in the morning and a chance of showers and thunderstorms as the remnants of Tropical Depression Fred move north, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Patchy fog this morning will clear by mid-morning, with rain chances beginning in the afternoon and slowly rising throughout the night.

The NWS predicted the chances of a storm will fall away overnight.

Highs today will be around 85 degrees, falling to a low around 68 degrees.

Thursday, there will be an increasing chance of rain during the day, with showers becoming likely in the afternoon.

There will also be a chance of storms starting soon after dawn, and rising along with the rain chances in the afternoon.

The NWS predicted precipitation chances will drop around dark on Thursday, and a lingering slight chance of showers will trail off a few hours after midnight.

Clouds will also decrease for mostly clear skies most of Thursday night and partly cloudy skies by morning on Friday.

Temperatures on Thursday will reach up around 83 degrees during the day, then fall to around 69 degrees overnight.

Friday, there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms starting soon after dawn, and rising in the afternoon before falling away in the late evening.

Clouds will gradually decrease throughout the day on Friday, for mostly clear skies by dark.

High temperatures on Friday will be around 87 degrees, with low temperatures around 69 degrees.
