Shower and thunderstorm activity will wane slowly after sunset, but the chance for rain will return midweek and continue for the rest of the workweek.

Today’s weather conditions were conducive to cold air funnel clouds, and one was spotted near Germantown in Montgomery County, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Cold air funnel clouds usually do not reach the ground or cause any damage. They are more common in the late spring and early summer, the weather service said.

The high for today reached 76 degrees in Dayton and Cincinnati, and 77 in Columbus.

Tonight, skies will be mostly cloudy, with overnight lows dropping to around 61 degrees. Patchy fog is possible after 4 a.m.

Tuesday will be partly sunny, dry and warmer with a high near 80 degrees. Morning fog is expected to clear by 10 a.m., according to the NWS.

Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 64 degrees.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms returns for Wednesday, which will be mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees. Rain chances continue through the evening and overnight hours, which will be mostly cloudy with a low around 65 degrees.
