Cold front brings showers, thunderstorms tonight

Showers, gusty winds and possibly a few thunderstorms accompany a cold front this evening.

After 1 a.m., only showers are likely with overnight lows dropping to around 41 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, which will have a high near 58 degrees. Clouds increase with showers likely, and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms continues Friday night, mainly before 9 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, then gradually become clear with overnight lows around 37 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny with a high near 60 on Saturday, but overnight rain is likely, mainly after 1 a.m. Overnight lows will be around 45 degrees.

A wet Mother’s Day is expected, with thunderstorms also possible after 5 p.m. and highs near 58 degrees. Rain continues Sunday night, mainly before midnight. Overnight lows will fall to around 43 degrees.
