A cold front will be moving in today and will bring cooler temperatures for the week, the National Weather Service said.

Rain will move into the region late this morning and into the afternoon, bringing a chance of thunder as well. The storms are expected to increase in strength through the mid to late afternoon and evening.

Temperatures fall around 42 degrees overnight. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers before 8 p.m.

Tuesday brings drier conditions with a partly sunny sky. Temperatures will be much cooler tomorrow with highs in the mid-50s along Interstate 70 and near 60 closer to the Ohio River. Breezy winds could make temperatures feel cooler, according to NWS.

Overnight will be mostly clear with lows in the low to mid-30s. Frost is possible, but could be affected by winds.

Wednesday involves a sunny horizon with a high of 56.

Chilly temperatures are forecasted once more for the night with a low of 36 degrees. Partial clouds will decorate the night sky.

Thursday will bring slightly warmer weather with some sunshine, but the chance of a light shower can’t be ruled out. Temperatures will remain slightly cooler than normal with highs in the mid-50s to low 60s.

Thursday night is mostly cloudy with a low of 42 degrees.

Warmer temperatures will return to close out the workweek. Highs are expected to reach the low to mid-60s Friday.
