DETAILED FORECAST
OVERNIGHT:
The mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain in the Miami Valley will increase overnight, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.
>> Snow totals: How much did your community get?
Areas with the wintry mix or rain to start, including Dayton, will transition to snow by morning and it will accumulate more on the grass and freshly on roads and streets.
New snowfall accumulations are expected to range between 1 to 3 inches north of I-70 and as much as an inch south of Dayton.
TUESDAY: Another messy morning commute is expected with slick and snow covered roads. The commute will likely be worse than Monday. Snow showers will taper after sunrise but we'll see a fresh accumulation of snow across the area.
It will be a little breezy as well. Temperatures will range in the upper 20s to lower 30s throughout the day with wind chills in the teens and 20s. Clouds will decrease into the afternoon and sunshine will help a bit with the roads. Temperatures will drop into the night, so any roads left wet or untreated will refreeze for Wednesday morning’s commute.
WEDNESDAY:
With snow on the ground and clear skies, it will be a cold morning with temperatures in the upper teens. Highs for the day will only reach the upper 20s. Sunshine will return.
