There is an Air Quality Alert in effect Thursday for Butler and Warren counties, issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency. During the alert, the agency expects the pollutant levels to be unhealthy for sensitive groups like children, older adults and people with respiratory or cardiovascular disease.

Residents can help reduce air pollution by avoiding or reducing the use of gas-powered vehicles or appliances, avoiding using oil-based paints and stains and never burning leaves or other yard trimmings.

On Friday, clouds will gradually increase, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms starting in the afternoon. Highs will be around 83 degrees.

On Friday night, clouds and both rain and storm chances will gradually decrease, tapering off under mostly clear skies by dawn on Saturday. There will also be some breezy winds after midnight, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Lows will be around 54 degrees.

Saturday will be sunny and much cooler, with highs only around 69 degrees.

Overnight it will be mostly clear and cool, with lows around 45 degrees.
