Warm and pleasant Monday; above normal temperatures expected this week

Warmer weather will continue Monday with high temperatures expected to climb into the mid to high 60s in the afternoon. The National Weather Service in Wilmington forecasted warmer weather than usual the next few days as temperatures linger in the 60s.

Monday is expected to be pleasant with mostly sunny skies. Lows will drop into the low 40s overnight, before rebounding back into the mid 60s Tuesday afternoon.

Clouds will increase Tuesday, with a chance for light, scattered rain to move in during the afternoon and evening. However, most communities are expected to stay dry, according to NWS.

Wednesday is expected to be dry and warm with temperatures in the 60s.

Widespread showers are forecasted Thursday, with rain to start moving in from the west throughout the afternoon, according to NWS. Temperatures are still in the 60s, but are expected to drop into the mid 50s to low 40s Friday.

By the weekend, colder temperatures will return with afternoon highs in the 40s, NWS forecasted. A slight chance for rain remains for the weekend.
