A quieter pattern looks to set up heading toward Thanksgiving Day.

Dry and cool weather will dominate the forecast Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The mornings will be cold and the afternoons will sit in the 40s each day.

If your Thanksgiving plans take you out of the Miami Valley, here is what you need to know:

5-Day Forecast

Indianapolis:

  • Wednesday looks mostly sunny and cool with highs in the 40s.
  • Thanksgiving Day will be similar but into the middle 40s.
  • On Black Friday, be ready for a cool start, but temperatures will get to the low 50s in the afternoon ahead of the next storm system, which will bring rain showers into the afternoon

 Cleveland:

  • Wednesday will be cold with some scattered snow showers in the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures will only reach the upper 30s, and it will be a little windy.
  • Thanksgiving Day will be cold. Highs might stay below freezing all afternoon with some sun.
  • Black Friday early morning shoppers should bundle up. The morning will be in the upper 20s with temperatures climbing to the mid 40s. The afternoon should stay dry.

Cincinnati:

  • Wednesday looks cool and partly cloudy. Temperatures will climb to the middle 40s but it will be dry.
  • Thanksgiving Day looks nice just like here in Dayton with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures remain cooler than normal again.
  • Black Friday shoppers will need to bundle up in the morning. The afternoon will be in the low 50s. There will be some rain showers arriving by the late afternoon.

Pittsburgh:

  • Wednesday will be cold with some snow showers that could mix with rain towards the afternoon. It will be a cold day in the upper 30s.
  • Thanksgiving look quiet but bitter cold. Highs stay below freezing.
  • Black Friday shoppers should be ready for another cold day. The early morning will be around 20 but the afternoon gets a little warmer in the middle 40s.

Fortunately, there aren’t any major storm systems that would make getting to your destination a headache. If you travel back over the weekend, rain looks to move in from the west to the east Friday into Saturday, which could slow you down on the roads.
