Mostly cloudy and warm with chance of showers and storms

Today will be warm and mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening.

Isolated strong to severe storms are possible, with damaging winds the primary threat.

The high for today will be near 83 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Tonight past 7 p.m. is expected to be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 59 degrees.

Thursday will be mostly sunny but cooler with a high near 78 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night with a low around 56 degrees.

Friday will be similar to Thursday, with sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees with mostly clear skies Friday night. The overnight low will be around 59 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday will be dry and sunny with highs in the mid-80s.
