It will be calm and sunny but cold today following a weather rollercoaster ride the day before that brought record rain, flooding issues and plummeting temperatures that brought a wintry mix.

The high for today is expected to reach the upper 20s to low 30s, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Several flood warnings, a watch and advisory were issued across the area, but only one remains in place.

  • A Flood Warning is in effect through 4 p.m. Saturday for the Little Miami River at Spring Valley. Turn around and don’t drown when encountering flooded roads — most flood deaths occur in vehicles, the NWS warned.

Light snow showers and flurries this morning led to little — if any — accumulation.

Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 22 degrees.

Skies stay clear and sunny for Saturday, which will have a high near 28 degrees and an overnight low around 20 degrees.

A warmup arrives for the second half of the weekend.

It will be unseasonably warm Sunday, with a high temperature near 53 degrees under sunny skies.

Monday will be even warmer, with the possibility of temperatures climbing into the 60s. Rain is expected to return, but will hold off for most of the daytime hours, according to NWS.

Showers will continue overnight and into Tuesday day before leaving the region Tuesday night. There also is a slight chance for thunder Tuesday.
