Warmer today with afternoon, evening showers; snow possible over Super Bowl weekend

Temperatures are above normal today before a cold front arrives for the weekend with some flurries or snow showers possible.

It will be breezy and cloudy with a high near 48 degrees today. Showers are likely, mainly after 4 p.m., that are expected to continue into the late night, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

There is a slight chance of rain and show showers overnight, then a slight chance of snow after 3 a.m., with the overnight low around 26 degrees,

There is a slight chance of snow showers for Saturday, which otherwise will be mostly cloudy with a high near 30 degrees.

Skies remain mostly cloudy for Saturday night, which will have an overnight low around 15 degrees.

Super Bowl Sunday will have a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon, but otherwise it will be partly sunny and freezing, with highs around 27 degrees. Sunday night, temperatures will fall to a low around 12 degrees.

Valentine’s Day will be a tad warmer but still just below freezing with a high expected near 31 degrees and an overnight low around 19.
