The Golden Corral location at 6611 Miller Lane in Butler Twp. is also open. Other Miami Valley locations, including on Kingsridge Drive in Miami Twp. near the Dayton Mall and in Franklin and Springfield, are listed on the Golden Corral web site as “Operations temporarily suspended,” and there was no answer at those restaurants on Wednesday. An employee of the newly reopened Beavercreek location said her restaurant and the Miller Lane location are currently the only local Golden Corral eateries that are serving customers.
But there’s a twist in how those customers are getting their food. Rather than serving in its customary buffet style, both of the open Dayton-area Golden Corral restaurants are serving cafeteria-style, at least for now. “Still endless helpings, only now we serve you,” Golden Corral officials say on their web site to describe its version of cafeteria-style dining at many of its restaurants, including the Miller Lane and Beavercreek locations.
The reopened restaurants also offer curbside delivery.
“We are excited to bring our teams back to work and re-open our restaurants as soon as it’s appropriate in compliance with state and local mandates,” Golden Corral officials said on the restaurant chain’s web site.
The Raleigh, North Carolina-based Golden Corral operated nearly 500 restaurants nationwide prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
