Top 11 wing stops in Dayton

Believe it or not: there are a TON of great wing places in the Dayton Metro Area. When we decided to do a taste test to determine the best wings in town, we came up with a list of over 25 spots to grab great wings, once you factored in the chains and local hangouts. That was a little more chicken than any of us were ready to handle in one day.
This list has been pared down to our top hyperlocal stops. In no particular order, these wings will rock your world.

1. JJ's Fish and Chicken

They've got the traditional wing-style down pat, and have several spots on Dayton's west side for ultimate convenience.

Wild Wing Wednesday at McIntosh's Pub is the best time to grab 10 wings (like these scrumptious barbeque wings) for $6.50. For those of us who like the chicken, minus the mess that sauces make, McIntosh's dry rub wings are the real deal.Location: 6 E. Franklin St., Bellbrook

3. TJ Chumps

5. Lock 27 Brewing

It's no secret that Dayton.com loves its local beer scene. Even better is when a local brewery has incredible food to pair with its great beers, like Lock 27's dry rubbed, house smoked wings served up right with housemade sriracha blue cheese dip. You won't want to share.

7. Blind Bob’s Bar

For those of us who live in the Oregon District, it's practically a weekly ritual to stop over at Bob's and order up some bourbon wings. These hand-breaded crispy wings get the sweet treatment in their sauce, and the end product definitely gets all of our taste buds dancing.

Yes, Elsa's has the Mexican food angle down, but its nine wing sauces are all on point as well. 11. Bunkers
If you haven’t gathered by now, chicken wings are a big deal in the Dayton area. Many say they have the best, but our readers gave Bunkers the poultry prize for the 2016 Best of Dayton. “We do jumbo wings. You can get them breaded or naked. They are mighty tasty with our homemade sauces,” manager Amy Glavin said.
