Fino Sur Peruvian Street Food, the only restaurant in the Dayton area that specializes in the dishes of Peru, is now open in the Cross Point Centre in Centerville.

A restaurant on a mission to bring a new kind of cuisine to the Dayton area will have its last day this month.

Fino Sur Peruvian Street Food in the Cross Pointe Centre in Centerville announced its last day will be Friday, Oct. 15. The restaurant, located in tenant space that previously housed a chiropractic office near the southwest corner of the retail center, opened in late May 2020.

In an open letter to their customers that was posted to Facebook on Thursday, Fino Sur stated:

“Dear Customer,

Fino Sur opened in May 2020 with the goal of bringing the flavors of Peru to Centerville, Ohio. While the people of Centerville and surrounding areas welcomed us with open arms, today we are announcing the permanent closure of Fino Sur on Friday, October 15th, 2021.

We are incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of serving you and thank you for your support.

The Fino Sur team”

Fino Sur was the brainchild of Alberto Arenas and his family. Arenas worked for several years in the local restaurant industry, including manager at El Toro Bar & Grill. In 2019, he provided some of his Peruvian street-food specialties at Dayton’s Hispanic Heritage Festival. The food was well-received, and Arenas decided to fulfill his dream to bring his native country’s South American food to Dayton-area diners.
