Former Dayton Daily News country music writer Kim Margolis knows this intimately, and says festival-goers are not afraid to go barefoot and kick up some mud.
"And they own it," she said matter-of-factly.
The three-day festival in Hickory Hills Lake attracts some of the biggest names in country music and is one of the funnest bashes in the region.
People let their hair (and sometimes, their bikini top) down.
Hillary McNabb, who like Kim is a country music fan, says there is always much to see.
"A lot of shirtless drunk men in cowboy boots, tight jeans and hats. Some you're happy to see, some you wish you could unsee. Also a lot of American flag clothing. And a lot of girls in almost-there shorts and bikini tops with their cowboy boots. But you'll also see a LOT of people having a great time listening to music they know by heart," she said.
